I got this pickup a while back but have yet to use it 'cause I'm unsure how it should be hooked up (no cable was attached). there's 6 terminals, as you can see on the pic but I don't know how I could cable it up. if anyone knows, please let me know! thanks.

Wow. No idea what to do about that -- not even down to color-coded stumps for crying out loud. Looks like epoxy potting, too, so it's not going to be easy to just follow back to the coils. I'd try the manufacturer if you haven't already.

Can you get ohmmeter readings from each terminal to the others? I'd guess that it's two coils each with +, - and shield.

Further guessing is that the top 3 connections are one coil and the bottom 3 another. The center lug of each is "shield" which are wired together with the combination "-" at upper left. Wire on right is connecting the 2 coils. Unconnected lug at lower left is the combination "+". That would be a little counter-intuitive because it would mean top coil's "-" is on the left and "+" on the right - opposite for the bottom coil.

I'm thinking if you ohm it out, you'll find max resistance between lower left and the 3 lugs connected together, and half resistance to the right most lugs connected together.

thanks both; I did try emailing the manufacturer a while back to no response, but I'll try again - and maybe to one of their distributors elsewhere. thanks for the specifics on what to look for with my multimeter - I've a busy week ahead but will give it a go and see what I can work out next weekend. cheers.

from here: https://www.kentarmstrong.sk/products.html

It doesn't entirely solve the problem (not sure about the 6'th output or why both N/S are jumped, but with the ohmmeter you should be able to sort it out.

great find, smgear! who'd have thought they'd have a website in Slovakia! I look forward to experimenting!

elsewhere on the site it does refer to them being the eastern-Europe distributor, though it also seems like they make KA designs under licence - their current PAF+ designs being enhancements of the original. maybe that's why they're showing 5 terminals as opposed to the 6 on mine - but if that's the earth, maybe they link it internally now. all good info to investigate with though - thanks again.
