i vaguely remember seeing a vid of that. Was it Vic Wooten on bass?

No it was definitely a guitarist not bassist.

Hey what about that most unsung, yet indispensable denizen of every one of your pedalboards: the lowly tuner? I use the sturdy Boss TU-2, always on the strobe setting, and find it an easy to read (well the tuner bit, anyway, don't talk to me about the function buttons), and reliable companion. I use it many times a night, 'cause I'm a little OCD that way...
The best tuner I ever used was an old Peterson strobe in a studio. Unfortunately, I was attempting to tune a late 60's Yamaha electric 12-string at the time, (second session, ever) and it was a slow, agonizing journey of self-doubt and worry that scarred me a bit and likely resulted in several years of fairly dodgy intonation, as I strived to deny the terrible knowledge revealed by the spinning disc.
The most problematic tuner I ever had was a Sabine that stuck to the face of your guitar with this sticky rubber pad that constantly failed, sending the unit to the dusty, crusty stage floor, which would necessitate a mad rush to the gents' so as to clean the thing up enough that it would stick on your guitar and allow you the luxury of a tuner. It was broken when a careless (and drunk) club owner knocked over two of my guitars and smashed the housing of the Sabine Achille's Heel model. Even as pissed off as I was at a certain lush, I was kind of relieved to know that the inaccurate, easily confused by external sound sources, hard to read little piece of crap was out of my life, and now I had a perfectly good excuse to starve for a week so that I might have a tuner that actually helped me.
Any great or terrible tuners you've encountered?

Love the TU-3 only pedal I HAVE to have with me always.(TU-2 for my little board or bass rig)The Peterson Stroboflip I used to have access to was pretty handy with a bunch of extra functions , at 200ish bucks was way out of my price range.
