Has anyone tried these?

I've done a bunch of posts on DIY onboard effects, and now I'm curious about some of the semi-prefab options.

I got some really cool tone modules from Larry Santellan at Santellan Sounds. He uses a solderless system, whereas it looks like the MOD Boards are pretty solder-intensive.

Anyone know of any other contenders in this arena?

I've always been a bit leery of solder less connectors and what happens to them in 10 or 20 years or even less in bad conditions but I have no evidence of problems with these particular connectors but I've seen many problems in both scientific instruments as well as consumer and pro electronic equipment. In fact bad connectors are one of the most common problems found in repairs. YMMV

Harvey Starr used to make stuff like this and he still makes a compressor, EQ and electronic switching system.

He also builds some great guitarlike midi controllers that are very cool (almost as cool as the Sal-Mar Construction IMHO).

Here is a video of The Sal-Mar at work many moons ago, in case you are interested. I did a lot of restoration and repair on it in the early 80's.

Those MOD boards are pretty looking. Just not sure about the large number knobs some of them require. It sounds like you would either be adding a few or nixing some tone or volume controls from your current setup.
