Once you hit about 5 or 6 my amp starts to open up and generally the tubes are getting hot and bothered , but watts doesn't really mean volume. The only thing that matters is what YOU hear and like really .

So true as long as the front row isn't deaf...

Well I guess I must just have seen the right amps, because I've never deafened anyone with ten watts, and I've found it pretty difficult to really open stuff up higher than 50.

I like my amps crunching pretty good, though, and I find myself playin pretty tiny rooms.

That, indeed, is the wonderful thing about having a low wattage amp! You can use the whole thing. I rarely have my Deluxe Reverb turned past three, so I'm a little jealous...

I'm about as pleased as you can get. Best heirloom ever. Here's hoping that when I have kids, one of them will be able to appreciate this toneful little bit of family history.

My little HK will hurt your ears on 1 watt and run you out of the room on 5. At 18 it is just plain too loud maxxed out. The only thing that matters again is if it sounds good , most of the stuff musicians say is just exactly that , stuff.
