Anyone try ZOG strings before? https://www.zacharyguitars.com/Strings.htm

This guy seems like a total crank but, his ideas seem to make some sense. I bought some strings to test, I'll post some opinions after I get them.

interesting. I look forward to reading about your findings. He makes a valid argument - if your playing style would be better served by even or progressive tensions. I think it would particularly be applicable if you fall on the shred side of the spectrum. But I'm not conceptually convinced it makes sense for fingerstyle based approaches. Although it's debatable whether our approach fits the tensions or if the tensions fit our approach. I will say though that I've long felt that the 'B' tension was wrong in most sets. You can see the dip in his charts and that point of imbalance is one of the reasons why it's so hard to get and keep that string in tune.

So they might be cool. At those prices, they're definitely worth checking out. Keep us posted.

Yeah , he has some real issues . I thought I was obnoxious but gee whiz ? Let us know how they feel he has a point in the ranting somewhere just not sure what it actually might be ? We all know that everyone is stupid that is a given , but stupidity really doesn't stop anyone from doing anything.

OK strings fine but I need tension optimized tone and volume knobs now! As I would not want anyone to think I was stoopid.

This was totally off my radar — thanks for bringing it up. Any word yet on the results?

Sounds a bit like the premise for the Karl Verheyen string set from Dean Markley. The strat setup videos get a lot of forum debate, but the guy's results do sound pretty damned nice.

Reading that guy's site took up precious minutes of my life which I will never get back. If he ever saw the state of my frets, or the guitars with .14s on the E and B string he'd probably shoot me, but years of playing amounts to muscle memory and intuitive adjustment to pitch and tension, meaning I don't care- the problems dealt with.

Boy, that's the truth! Whatever point he may have suffers a bit from the sledgehammer delivery.

I have a hard time taking any businessman who speaks like that seriously.
His page made my IQ hurt.
