Post Modern P90s?

Hey, anyone have experience with modern replacement P90s, especially ones jiggered to fit into a humbucker format?

I've used and written about Duncan Fat Cats, which are humbucker-sized. It's a nice-sounding pickup (I dig it in the Hello Kitty Strat), but it's a little on the restrained side. But I'd like something a little rawer for a guitar I'm thinking of putting together. I COULD do a body with P90 routs, but why not have maximum flexibility. (Possible answer to my own question: I'm not certain whether the changing the size of the device makes its impossible to get the sort of P90 quality I'm talking about.)

I recently bought some P90s from GFS. They seemed to get good reviews. I haven't tried them out yet, hopefully soon. I got two standard P90, I forget what they call them, the neck is reverse wound, I guess with both on you get sort of a humbucker noise canceling. I also bought one of their P90 humbuckers, which I suppose is the opposite of what you are looking for. They make a version of their P90 that fits a humbucker route, and the prices are very reasonable.

All of this hits on something I have been thinking about lately. But I think I'll start another topic.

You can't go wrong with Lindy Fralin , pricier then those cheap ones but a million times better with quality and customer support. Just called them and asked questions guy explained to me how to wire stuff what caps to use and sent me the caps free.

I love my Harmonic Design Z-90s. They don't sound particularly like a P-90 with that growly, thick midrange. The HDs sound more full-frequency and kinda big everywhere, without really sounding as hi-fi as that implies. Growl and clang can be in there, but not with the distinct center of gravity in the mids that most P90s have.

I'm brand new to the board, hi all. I put a set of Single Coil for Humbuckers from Jason Lollar in my Airline Map. These are very p-90 like, and it has become my go to guitar for surf shows. Great tone.

I REALLY want a set of these to put in something I don't have yet ! https://www.fralinpickups.com/p90s.asp#humXp90 A Melody Maker or Les Paul Jr ooooh ! When I talked to Lindy last month he said they are changed ever so slightly from original design to cancel the hum but still retain that wonderful sound.
