Hi, I admit it, I’m a pedalaholic. UberPedalGeek. I love them all, those wonderful colourful shiny boxes. Sometimes I think about putting stuff in them that’s not my guitar*

Anyway, I’d like to share some of my favourite resources & web links that I’ve stumbled across over these last few years. Some may be familiar to you and some are just random stuff I like.

Please share your favourite links too (I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours), just because you visit a site regularly doesn’t mean us newbies know about it.

*Tsk, my microphone and keyboard you filthy minded people.

I’ll start with Podcasts

• This podcast is the start of my homebrew journey. I wish there were more, but such is life. I’ve listened to this more than I’ve watched some of my family home movies.

Other Podcasts I like which are available on iTunes:
o Gear for guitar
o Guitar shop podcast (go for the video podcast)
o The Guitar Podcast
o That Guitar Show
o Guitar Tone Network
o Guitar Music Theory Lessons

Books/Resources:

• Guitar Effects Pedals: The Practical Handbook – Dave Hunter (Amazon)
• Handmade Electronic Music: The Art of Hardware Hacking - Nicolas Collins (Amazon)
• AnalogMan's guide to Vintage Effects (AnalogMan Website)

Note – AnalogMan & Analog Tom wrote a load of articles for Premier Guitar which are still available on the site if you have a search in the archives. Should you want to, you could copy and paste all the articles into a Word document and you'd have your own unofficial copy of AnalogMans guide to Vintage Effects Part 2 – not available in any shops.

The Tone Bender is one of my all time favourite pedals. Here’s a man that knows a lot about it and is willing to share.

Too many things to see and read !!!! I just never have owned nice older stuff like that. I take it you like the Tone Bender !Only pedal i have have ever built is a B.Y.O.C. Octave Fuzz , they make their kits for dummies and morons like me without any skill or ability.Maybe my early 80ish MXR Distortion + counts as a cool old pedal , it is mounted to cardboard.I really want to build a Klon and a Rangemaster just because Joe piqued my interest. Great stuff thanks for the info!
