Guy that I met on the Seymour Duncan forums bought a Hovercraft and it is a very spiffy amp.Wide range of sounds and a few neat options that are semi -randomly tossed into the mix.https://www.hovercraftamps.com/ The whole recycled amp and limited availability and the low prices make the company very unusual. The mission is to make great amps for people that can't afford them more or less.Or just at a price point that actual musicians can afford. Got to love someone that is making each amp a one of a kind journey of discovery and the magical creation of a one off built just for you. My hat is off to Niall and everyone at Hovercraft for being that kind of special ! ImageImageImage

I love these guys, they are the amp druids. The prices are very reasonable. Though, it sounds like you have to be lucky and get an order in at the right time.

They come up semi randomly on the website as available and generally sell out pretty quick. The best part is how they will make you pretty much anything. The Dwarvenaut in the pic was around $700 bucks shipped , and that is a giggable and very versatile one channel 20 watt amp.

I've always been curious but skeptical. The clips sound good for the styles they're geared to. But they're mods of lower-mid-range amps, like the Dwarvernaut 20 being a redone Jet City JCA-20H. The cosmetic remake goes with the aural aesthetic they shoot for, but I'm not all that interested in an up charge on a cosmetic update--like sensible motorcycle enthusiasts will tell you, chrome doesn't get you home. The actual level of electronic modification seems to be a pretty well kept secret so far, which means I'm rather unwilling to spend my own money to find out what the mods are all about.

But they seem to please the people who buy them. Definitely wouldn't mind trying one to see if it does anything for me. I like a lot less gain at the amp than I think these guys are geared, for, though, which is less about the amp than the amp-player fit.
