Fancy guitar friends wife bought him for xmas , bridge pickup has an open coil and is not repairable. Going to get Lindy Fralin to make something that is similar to what was in it. Series VII pickups , coil tapped high output 15.6k neck 16.8k bridge ceramic magnets. Universally hated by everyone for the most part , basically a Dirty Fingers with one set of screws and a cover.https://imgur.com/a/lEDOb

Nice guitar the neck looks pretty special with the laminated construction should make it really keep sustaining. I’ve not seen one myself but Gibson was having a hard time against Strats. They must have been trying to appeal to the metal guys perhaps.

Metal wasn't even a thing yet in 78 , but when we put a super high output Fralin in it , it will be pretty dang metal I am sure.
