I dunno that I'm THAT much younger, but speaking of younger bands that have floated my boat lately, check out Peggy Sue.

I already loved their first two records (the second masterfully produced by Joe's former bandmate, John Parish), but their about-to-be-released-Stateside record of '60s covers, Peggy Sue Play the songs of Scorpio Rising, is ruling my iPod right now. Lots of unexpected, fun and brilliant reinterpretations of songs like "Heat Wave", "Blue Velvet", "Hit The Road, Jack", etc.

As an old guy I recommend listening to BBC6 Music via streaming on the web. They play new music, old music and have a lot of live bands. I recommend the Mark Riley show at 1:00PM Central timeUS and Gideon Coe at 3:00PM Central time both Mon-Thurs. they play mostly new small label bands and have live bands on the Mark Riley show almost everday as well as live recordings from the archives including most of the John Peel live sessions. I have discovered a lot of bands that I like especially the Neo-folk and Welsh bands. BBC6 has great music all the time. I turn my 27 year old daughter on to bands from BBC6 and she wows her friends with them. Most BBC6 shows are archived for streaming for a week after air date. BBC6 is listed in the iTunes radio menu and is available on the net at:

Check it out it is great programming we have nothing like it in the US anymore
