Wow — I can’t believe my eyes! After years of planning, scheming, and screwing around, my very first batch of production fuzz pedals has arrived at my distributor, ready for sale. Will they gather dust or sell like hotcakes? That depends on you, dear reader!
You can read about the Duh Remedial Fuzz, hear a demo, and place orders from the product page at Vintage King. (For now, Vintage King is my sole distributor.) If you’ve been following my videos, you’ve heard Duh already — I’ve got the circuit mounted inside some of my favorite guitars, including the Hello Kitty! and lipstick-tube Strats.
Excuse me for quoting again from the great review I got in Guitar Player — I’m just a proud pedal papa! Have a cigar.
“Remarkable … responsive dynamics and simultaneously fierce and expressive tone. This is a pedal that doesn’t give up even one less-than-spectacular sound. It reminds me of ’60s records where the fuzz sound jumped right out of the grooves and changed my world.” [Editor’s Pick Award recipient.] — Guitar Player magazine, 2014
Congrat's, Joe!
rad, joe!
Congratulations, Joe. You're venturing into a place many of us have only dreamed of setting foot!
Congrats, Joe! May DUH spread far and wide! Or further and wider…
I just love that pic ! So much Duh for the whole world to enjoy ! Makes my morning read and coffee a pretty good time , congrats and hopefully many sales to follow.I already spread the word in the the SD forums , the guy I met from there is a pretty heavy pedal collector and he really liked the Ego. Should be having a New Pedal Day thread for the Duh soon !
I’d be tempted to plug them all together in a long chain and whang on some “Louie, Louie” for the whole neighborhood. That’d show that kid next door who used to play “Cliffs of Dover”.
Great news!
Anne and Dad
Thanks, Dad and Anne! Love you!
Mine is arriving in a few days. Really looking forward to giving it a go!
Well done
Hi guys — thanks for all the support. It means a lot. 🙂
I’ve got a long list of designs I’ve been hoarding, and I hope Duh is just the first of many releases. But it probably goes without saying that future models will only see the light of day if I sell a few of the early releases. So to everyone who’s ordered one, or is contemplating it — thanks, thanks, thanks.
Meanwhile, my promise to you, dear readers, is that I won’t let the blog degenerate into a cheesy promo vehicle for my gadgets. Or at least not more so than it already is. 😉
But we like cheesy and degenerate?
Comment of the year. 🙂
This pleases me to virtually no end. I will treat myself to a Duh as soon as I get caught up on a few neccesities, financially speaking. Awesome!
Awesome, it seems I can’t be the first to congratulate you but, congratulations none the less!
I really want to buy one, but to be honest, my natural instinct is to make a clone! It doesn’t help that you gave me a schematic of an early version.
Hee hee. Only very evil people make clones. 🙂
Amazing! Congratulations!
This December I will finish college and finally earn some money – this will be a Christmas present to myself! 🙂
Thanks, Moerk! And congrats on your upcoming graduation. 🙂
Thanks a lot, Prof. G! 🙂
Joe, the pedal arrived today and it’s really fun. I think I like the cleaned-up sound you can get by rolling off the guitar’s volume as much as the full-on fuzz; that seems to be the Achilles’ heel of a lot of fuzz boxes so, yay for that! Also, the size and travel of the volume knob make it very easy to adjust with your foot. Don’t know if that was intentional or a happy accident, either way, it’s pretty cool.
Excellent! Congratulations!
Purchased one, too, awaiting its arrival. I was thinking of getting a fuzz face not too long ago – never had a germanium fuzz. Got this instead – in part because it seems cool. But also to thank-you for all the work you’ve put into your writing and experiments.
